Introduction:
Chitrakoot is a small town or can be described as a nagar panchayat in the Satna District of Madhya Pradesh. It is place of culture, religious, archaeological importance and historical that is located in Bundelkhand region that also falls on the border of Uttar Pradesh. There is also one popular dham (Chitrakoot Dham) at this place, which is very much popular for its various sites and temples that are mentioned in the Hindu scriptures.
Many people come to visit this place on every Amavasya. Somwati Amavasyas, Sharad Poornima, Raamanavami, Deepawali and Makar Sankranti are few of the special occasions when people gather at this place to celebrate. However, this place also attracts crowds throughout the year. This place is also very much popular for “Yoga” and “Ayurvedic” centers such as Arogyadham that is located at Chitrakoot.

- By train:
One can board train from New Delhi or Delhi Hazrat Nizaamuddin to reach Chitrakoot in just 12 hours.
- By bus:
One can get bus from Allahabad, Lucknow, Jabalpur, Jhansi, Varanasi and Satna.
- By Air:
One can take a flight to Allahabad, which is the nearest airport from Chitrakoot, approximately 134 kms from Allahabad.

Kamtanath Mandir: It has been said that while exile of the Lord Rama. He prayed to the Kamtanath to fight devils.
Lakshaman Pahari: People believe that while exile Lakshman (younger brother of Lord Rama) staye don Lakshaman hill, which is situated on the path of Kamdgiri.
Haniman Dhara: It is spring located on steep hillside in the Chitrakoot, to reach this place one has to climb 360 steps. One can find huge statue of the Lord Haniman, where water of spring tumbles over. People believes that this Dhara was created by Lord Rama himself for assuaging Hanuman, when he returned from Lanka after setting Lanka on fire.
Sita Rasoi: It has been said that this was the kitchen of Sita, wife of Lord Rama. It is located at peak of Hanuman Dhara Hill.
Sfatk Shila: This place is located at the dense forest of Chitrakoot. Sfatk Shila is also popular for two rocks that have foot print of Lord Rama, which is located at little distance of Janaki Kund, bank of MandakiniRiver.
Gupt Godavari: It is natural wonder that is consists of two beautiful caves. It is located at the distance of around 18 km from Chitrakoot. There is one popular tank located at this place that also gets referred as ‘Sitakund’.
Ram Ghat: It is located at the bank of river Mandakini in the Chitrakoot, which is also one of the significant pilgrim spot. You can also find many individuals in saffron dress meditating and offering solace of their wisdom to huge number of pilgrims coming to this place.
Janaki Kund: It is located at 2km of the Chitrakoot, on the bank of MandakiniRiver. ‘Janaki Kund’ means ‘Pool of Sita’, which is considered as favorite bath spot of Sita, throughout exile years of Lord Rama. This place is considered as very auspicious place that is blessed by Sita
